A novelist who's abandoned her writing career follows up a true story that took place during the final days of the Spanish Civil War: writer and Falangist Rafael Sanchez Maza was slated to be executed along with 50 other prisoners, but managed to escape and hide out in the forest during a rainstorm. Apparently, one of the soldiers searching the area discovered him, but let him go. The writer recomposes the pieces of this story, plagued with contradictions and enigmatic personalities. During her research, she unknowingly manages to unearth some truths about the story and herself.
